Why Immunocal – what about all the other nutritional supplements on the market?

First of all, Immunocal can make glutathione naturally in each and every cell in your body. Glutathione is what we know to be the ‘mother’ or ‘master’ antioxidant, in fact the only antioxidant that the body makes itself. If you read the blog post “Mother of all Antioxidants” ( under the ‘Archive’ section, you will understand that all the other antioxidants we supplement ourselves with cannot work without glutathione, and that it is imperative to restore these levels to fight off disease and maintain health in virtually every health condition.

It is useful to know that some products on the market today contain n-acetyl cysteine. For short term use this is okay, but long term this drug has been found to cause pulmonary hypertension, which could have tragic consequences. N-acetyl cysteine can make glutathione artificially in the body, and is commonly used in a hospital setting for drug overdose patients to quickly detoxify the liver. However, it is a toxic drug itself and can only be used in higher doses for a very short period of time. It will actually deplete your own natural resources of glutathione, so it is a good idea to check the label of anything you are going to try. Dangers of N-Acetyl Cysteine

Immunocal is currently the only clinically proven way to build and maintain the immune system, and is acknowledged by its entry in the Physicians Desk Reference and used by Medicaid and Medicare for the treatment of various conditions.

Immunocal’s enhanced version, ‘Immunocal Platinum’ is GREAT news for anyone with an auto-immune condition. Historically many auto-immune patients have been put on a immune suppressant therapy. With Immunocal Platinum, its two unique formulas, Redox Modulating Formula and Cytokine Modulating Formula, will stop the body’s immune system from attacking the patient, allowing the not only relief from symptoms associated with auto-immune disease, but also the benefit of immune protection from viruses, bacteria and toxins encountered in every day life

  1. Just wondering if doctors in Canada are able to prescribe Immunocal like it appears dioctors in the U.S. are able to?

    • It is listed in the PDR in USA and in the CPS in Canada, so it is medically recognized there but is a non-prescription product. If you are looking at it as a consumer, it is good to note that you will pay full retail price on Immunocal prescribed by a doctor as it is unlikely you will get it covered by insurance. If you contact Immunotec direct they will refer you to one of their consultants such as myself as we are trained to know what you would need for your particular challenges, and we can get you discounts that the doctors are unable to provide. Hope this helps – feel free to email if you need assistance.
